Privacy & Cookies

This notice explains, in plain terms, how BLINKENLIGHT Ltd ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data through this website, and your rights under UK data protection law. It is the data protection policy referred to in our written Terms and Conditions of Business (Design Services) and covers this website only; that agreement governs our consultancy and design engagements.

Who we are

BLINKENLIGHT Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 13110356), registered office Unit 309 The Pill Box, 115 Coventry Road, London, England, E2 6GH. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website, and we have not appointed a statutory data protection officer (we are not required to). For any data protection matter, including the rights below, contact info@blinkenlight.co.uk. When we deliver client projects we may handle personal data on a client's behalf; that is covered by our Terms of Business, not this notice.

What we collect and why

If you use the contact form we collect the details you provide — your name, company, email, optional phone number and message — together with basic anti-spam information; if you book a consultation we collect the details you enter to arrange it. We use this to respond to you and assess potential work, on the basis of taking steps at your request before a possible contract and our legitimate interest in handling genuine business enquiries. With your consent, we also collect standard analytics and advertising information about how the site is used. We keep records to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations, and use limited data to keep the site secure and to deal with any legal claims. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, run accounts, take payments, or make decisions about you by solely automated means.

Cookies

Until you choose, only strictly necessary cookies are used and nothing non-essential is set. With your consent we also use analytics cookies (to understand site usage) and marketing cookies (to measure our advertising). Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and remember your choice, and cannot be disabled. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Cookie preferences; withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of reputable third-party providers to host the site, deliver our forms and email, schedule consultations, and provide analytics and advertising; they process data only on our instructions under appropriate contracts. We also disclose data where the law requires it. Some providers process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards so it keeps an equivalent level of protection. We can give more detail about our providers and safeguards on request.

Keeping it & protecting it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — broadly, while we are in contact and for as long afterwards as legal and accounting obligations require — then delete or anonymise it. We apply reasonable measures to protect it, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal data, object to its use, or receive it in a portable form, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email info@blinkenlight.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you have a concern please tell us first; you can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk. This is a business website and is not directed at children.
